Bradda Head Lithium Ltd (LSE:BHL) has reported visible spodumene mineralisation from the first three diamond drill holes completed as part of its maiden drilling programme at the Whistlejacket lithium project in Arizona.
The company said holes WSTL0020, WSTL0021 and WSTL0022 intersected broad pegmatite intervals containing fresh spodumene crystals. Drilling of a fourth hole is underway, while core from the first three holes has been sent for laboratory analysis.
Whistlejacket is being explored under an option-to-joint-venture agreement with Kennecott Exploration Company.
Bradda Head said the mineralised intervals encountered in the initial drilling, particularly in WSTL0020 and WSTL0022, were consistent with previous work carried out by Kennecott.
Earlier work at the project indicated lithium deportment to spodumene and produced Dense Media Separation results that the company considers relevant to further metallurgical testing. Bradda Head plans additional testwork focused on the potential production of a spodumene concentrate.
Approximately 24 holes are planned at Whistlejacket during 2026. The programme is intended to provide additional information on the three-dimensional geometry of the project’s principal mineralised body.
Whistlejacket covers nine Arizona State mineral exploration permits. Kennecott previously completed 19 diamond holes at the project, with lithium mineralisation reported in all of those holes.
The project forms part of Bradda Head’s Arizona portfolio alongside its Basin and San Domingo lithium projects.
At Basin East, the company reports a combined Measured, Indicated and Inferred resource of 2.81 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent. Permitting work is also underway at Basin West.
At San Domingo, Bradda Head has completed 108 drill holes across three drilling campaigns and mapped more than 1,000 pegmatites. The company has identified priority pegmatite targets for additional exploration, with further drilling dependent on permit approvals. The work is intended to support a future NI 43-101 resource estimate.
Bradda Head is focused on lithium projects in the United States, including pegmatite and clay-hosted assets. In addition to its three principal Arizona projects, the company is exploring other pegmatite and brine prospects in Arizona, Nevada and Pennsylvania.
