Neo Energy Metals (LSE:NEO) reported progress across its New Beisa and Henkries uranium projects during the third quarter, alongside changes to its management team and a £1.75 million fundraising.
The company said it continued to progress regulatory approvals relating to New Beisa and Henkries while limiting expenditure ahead of securing full ownership of the New Beisa project.
At New Beisa, Neo Energy completed an updated stope inventory using optimisation work as part of its technical planning for the project. The company also initiated an implementation assessment covering processing facilities and infrastructure in preparation for the transfer of mining rights.
Work also continued at the Henkries uranium project in South Africa’s Northern Cape, where Neo Energy advanced mine design activities alongside environmental, regulatory and technical workstreams.
The company said these activities form part of its preparations for the potential future development of the projects, subject to the necessary ownership transfers, regulatory approvals and other requirements.
Neo Energy also announced management changes during the quarter, appointing mining executive Elmarié Maritz as chief financial officer.
Martin Westerman, who previously served as acting CFO, moved into a new position overseeing operations and project delivery.
The company also raised £1.75 million during the period. Neo Energy said the proceeds are intended to provide working capital and support ongoing regulatory processes.
In addition, the group continued work on its corporate governance framework as it progresses the development and regulatory processes associated with its uranium portfolio.
