Big Technologies plc (LSE:BIG), a provider of electronic monitoring solutions, has confirmed receipt of the Particulars of Claim in defamation proceedings brought against the company by Sara Murray.

The documents were served on Friday, 23 October 2026, following an earlier notification on 12 October that Murray had issued a claim seeking damages for libel and other relief.

The proceedings relate to allegations of forgery made by Big Technologies against Murray in a regulatory announcement published on 12 September 2025.

Big Technologies disputes the defamation claim and said it is preparing its response.

Defamation Claim Relates to September 2025 Announcement

The legal proceedings concern statements made by Big Technologies in its 12 September 2025 regulatory announcement, which included allegations of forgery against Sara Murray.

Murray’s claim seeks damages for libel, alongside other relief, in connection with those allegations.

The company initially disclosed receipt of the Claim Form on 12 October 2026 and subsequently received the detailed Particulars of Claim on 23 October, as anticipated.

The latest announcement confirms the formal service of the documents but does not disclose the amount of damages sought or provide further details of the remedies requested.

The allegations underlying the defamation proceedings remain disputed, and the company’s announcement does not report any judicial determination regarding their substance.

Separate Commercial Court Proceedings Continue

The forgery allegations are also relevant to separate Commercial Court proceedings involving Big Technologies and other parties against Sara Murray and others.

Those proceedings, identified under claim number CL-2025-000135, include a proposed expansion of the company’s case through draft re-amended particulars of claim.

Big Technologies is seeking to file and serve the amended documents, which incorporate the forgery allegations referenced in its September 2025 announcement.

The company has not stated that the proposed amendments have been approved by the court.

The defamation claim brought by Murray and the existing Commercial Court proceedings are distinct legal matters, although both involve the allegations previously made by Big Technologies.

Big Technologies Disputes Claim and Prepares Response

Big Technologies stated that it disputes the defamation proceedings initiated by Murray and is currently preparing its response.

The company has not provided a timetable for submitting its defence or indicated when further procedural developments may occur.

Its latest announcement also contains no assessment of potential financial exposure arising from the claim.

Big Technologies said it would issue further updates as appropriate.
