Orosur Mining Inc. (LSE:OMI) reported additional gold drilling results from its Anzá project in Colombia, including an intersection of 43.55 metres grading 1.53 grams per tonne of gold at the APTA prospect, as the company progresses exploration across several targets.
The company currently has three drilling rigs operating at Anzá and is preparing to move APTA towards a resource definition programme while advancing exploration at Pepas, El Cedro and El Yarumo.
APTA Drilling Results and Resource Programme
Recent drilling at APTA returned further gold mineralisation, providing additional geological information for the company’s planned resource development work.
Drill hole MAP109 intersected 15.35 metres grading 0.97 grams per tonne of gold, including 6.8 metres at 1.8 grams per tonne.
Hole MAP110 returned 43.55 metres at 1.53 grams per tonne of gold, including 14.2 metres at 3.1 grams per tonne and 7.35 metres at 2.0 grams per tonne.
The same hole also intersected 105.55 metres grading 0.54 grams per tonne of gold.
Drilling is continuing on hole MAP111, after which operations at APTA will be temporarily suspended to allow the rig to move to Pepas.
Orosur expects to begin a formal resource definition drilling programme at APTA in early 2027, targeting higher-grade zones and previously undrilled areas with mineralisation potential.
Pepas Exploration Shifts Towards Southern Targets
Exploration at Pepas has been examining potential extensions of the existing gold deposit.
Drilling to the east produced no significant results, while work northwest of the deposit identified extensive lower-grade mineralisation ranging from approximately 0.3 to 0.7 grams per tonne of gold.
The company is now shifting attention to an area approximately 800 metres south of the Pepas deposit, where geological mapping and surface sampling have identified quartz veining and rock samples containing multiple grams per tonne of gold.
Land access agreements have been completed, and drilling is expected to begin in the coming weeks using the rig transferred from APTA.
The programme will investigate whether similar geological structures to those hosting the existing Pepas deposit occur farther south.
El Cedro Drilling Resumes Following Earlier Technical Difficulties
At El Cedro, Orosur continues drilling the replacement hole CED001A following the failure of the original hole at a depth of 267 metres.
Previous results from CED001 included a composite intersection of 267.4 metres grading 0.65 grams per tonne of gold from surface, including 61.35 metres at 0.93 grams per tonne.
The replacement hole has progressed beyond the previous failure depth, with core recovery restarting at approximately 200 metres after the new drilling trajectory diverged from the original hole.
Orosur is also considering the deployment of an additional drilling rig to test another area of the El Cedro intrusive system.
Contract discussions remain ongoing, with mobilisation potentially taking place in the coming weeks if arrangements are finalised.
El Yarumo Identified as New Exploration Target
Orosur has identified El Yarumo, approximately 2.4 kilometres northwest of El Cedro, as a priority gold exploration target.
Geological mapping has outlined an area measuring approximately 500 metres by 500 metres containing multiple quartz-sulphide veins and hydrothermal breccias.
Surface sampling returned more than 64 samples grading above 0.1 grams per tonne of gold, including 20 samples exceeding 1 gram per tonne and a maximum result of 10.67 grams per tonne.
Gold-in-soil anomalies reached 0.8 grams per tonne.
The company noted geological similarities between El Yarumo and the Marmato gold deposit, located approximately 120 kilometres south of Anzá.
Orosur is preparing access arrangements and permitting applications, with drilling potentially beginning during the first quarter of 2027, subject to equipment and personnel availability.
Pepas Development Planning and Economic Assessment
Orosur has completed the final draft of the Programa de Trabajos y Obras, or Plan of Works, for the Pepas deposit.
The document outlines a proposed mining development plan and forms part of Colombia’s permitting and approval process.
Preliminary development scenarios have considered a processing operation of approximately 500 tonnes per day, equivalent to around 175,000 tonnes annually.
These conceptual scenarios indicate potential gold production of approximately 25,000 ounces per year over a 10-year period, including the possible blending of material from outside the existing mineral resource.
The figures remain preliminary and are subject to further technical and economic assessment.
Following consultations with Colombia’s new mining administration, Orosur intends to commission a Preliminary Economic Assessment compliant with NI 43-101, alongside environmental and social permitting activities.
