GENinCode (LSE:GENI) reported revenue of £1.1 million for the six months ended 30 June 2026, compared with £1.6 million a year earlier, as the company continued the development and commercial rollout of its cardiovascular and ovarian cancer risk assessment products.
The company attributed the decline in revenue to NHS spending reductions and the absence of income generated by a Catalonia pilot programme in the comparable period.
Adjusted EBITDA loss narrowed to £2.26 million, supported by cost reductions and favourable foreign exchange movements.
GENinCode completed a placing in February that increased its cash resources to £2.0 million. The company said the funding is expected to provide a cash runway into the first quarter of 2027.
CARDIO inCode-Score Advances Towards US and EU Regulatory Filings
During the period, GENinCode completed manufacturing and clinical validation of CARDIO inCode-Score, its polygenic risk test for coronary artery disease, in collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific.
The company is preparing to distribute the test through reference laboratory networks in the US and European Union.
GENinCode expects to submit a De Novo application for CARDIO inCode-Score to the US Food and Drug Administration in November 2026, followed by an EU IVDR filing in December.
The company also noted updated ACC/AHA guidelines recognising coronary artery disease polygenic risk scores as a genetic risk enhancer.
Spanish Pilot Programmes Move Towards Wider Rollout
Pilot implementations of CARDIO inCode-Score in Catalonia and Extremadura have been completed, with GENinCode working towards broader clinical adoption in Spain.
Following the reporting period, data from the Catalonia programme were presented at the ESC Congress in Munich. According to the company, the results showed reductions in cardiovascular risk and changes in clinical measures including lower LDL cholesterol and increased smoking abstinence.
GENinCode expects the full results to be published during the first half of 2027.
ROCA Funding Extended Through 2027
The company’s ROCA algorithm, which assesses ovarian cancer risk, secured an extension of NHS and University College London Hospitals funding through 2027.
GENinCode plans to pursue further adoption of ROCA across NHS trusts and regional expansion of the programme.
The company is also working to increase adoption of its LIPID inCode and CARDIO inCode-Score products in the US, while progressing cardiovascular testing programmes in other markets including Spain and Mexico.
GENinCode Forecasts 2026 Revenue of Around £3.2 Million
GENinCode now expects full-year 2026 revenue of approximately £3.2 million, reflecting slower-than-expected uptake through Thermo Fisher and lower NHS sales.
The company expects adjusted EBITDA to improve further as previously implemented cost reductions take effect and additional commercial channels develop.
Priorities for the remainder of 2026 include expanding CARDIO inCode-Score with Thermo Fisher, increasing adoption of LIPID inCode in the EU and US, progressing clinical adoption in Spain and Mexico, and expanding the use of ROCA within the NHS.
