Bezant Resources (LSE:BZT) has started commercial production at its Hope & Gorob copper-gold project, with run-of-mine ore now being processed through the Tsoaxaub Metals flotation plant.
The company said commissioning of the processing facility is under way, with production of copper-gold concentrate expected to increase progressively through the remainder of the year.
According to Bezant, construction of the mine and processing plant was completed ahead of its planned schedule and within budget.
The company also reported that the plant is operating as required during commissioning and that initial grades from material delivered to the facility have met or exceeded its forecasts.
Bezant is planning a Phase II expansion of the operation that is intended to increase processing throughput by up to 40%. The proposed expansion remains subject to the company’s development plans.
The company is also preparing a drilling programme intended to define approximately 500,000 tonnes of contained copper. Bezant said this work could support consideration of a potential Phase III processing plant.
The drilling target and potential Phase III development are prospective and do not represent established mineral resources or confirmed future production.
