Fusion Antibodies plc (LSE:FAB) has secured a new antibody engineering contract with an existing global pharmaceutical customer, generating expected revenue of more than £45,000 during the current financial year.
The Belfast-based biotechnology services company will use its proprietary Rational Affinity Maturation Programme (RAMP) technology to improve the binding affinity of the client’s lead antibody.
The contract has been awarded by a European-listed pharmaceutical group under an existing master services agreement, following previous collaborations involving similar antibody engineering work.
New Project Supports Recurring Revenue Strategy
Fusion Antibodies expects to complete the project within its current financial year, with the associated revenue contributing to its financial performance for the period.
The company said the repeat contract reflects continued demand for its specialist antibody engineering services and supports its strategy of developing longer-term commercial relationships with major pharmaceutical companies.
The award also provides an opportunity to demonstrate the commercial applications of its proprietary RAMP technology, alongside other development platforms including OptiMAL and microfluidic cell line development.
Fusion’s services support pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in developing and optimising antibodies for therapeutic and diagnostic applications.
Established Pharmaceutical Relationship Strengthened
Chief Executive Adrian Kinkaid welcomed the renewed engagement with the pharmaceutical customer, highlighting the importance of repeat business in building a more resilient revenue base.
“We are delighted to have secured this new RAMP project with a returning global pharmaceutical client,” Kinkaid said.
He added that the contract would allow Fusion to apply its specialist technology to the customer’s lead antibody while creating opportunities for further collaboration.
Fusion Antibodies continues to focus on expanding its commercial relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies through its antibody discovery, engineering and development services.
The company has previously worked with eight of the world’s 10 largest pharmaceutical companies by revenue and has completed more than 295 antibody humanisation projects.
