Clarkson PLC (LSE:CKN) raised its full-year profit expectations following higher-than-anticipated trading activity during August and September.
The shipping services group now expects underlying profit before tax for 2026 to be at least £135 million.
Clarksons said trading during the two-month period benefited from increased volatility across commodity and freight markets amid geopolitical tensions. Freight rates and asset prices reached record levels in some areas, according to the company.
Broking Revenue Exceeds Expectations
The group’s Broking division generated revenue significantly above management’s expectations during the period and increased its forward order book.
Clarksons’ Financial division also completed more transactions than the company had anticipated, contributing to the revised full-year profit outlook.
The company said its investments in global teams, trading tools and technology supported its ability to operate during periods of increased activity and market volatility.
The supplied material did not provide the company’s previous underlying pre-tax profit forecast or quantify the increase in its Broking division’s revenue and forward order book.
